“Exodus”, Ray Barretto and his Orchestra

“Exodus” from 1962  is one of my favorite Ray Barretto tracks: so laid back, so eerie, and that repeated violin riff is just hypnotic. Perhaps it’s a little too contemplative to be the first song on an album called Carnaval, but it’s still a banger…

  1. I agree! It would be nice if you could scan the BACK of the albums for important information. I would’ve love to know who that was on the violin!

  2. I believe the violinist was Felix “Pupi” Legarreta. This album is now available in CD. I’ve used it as background music for events.
